lyrics

Why do we feel the need to ask why,
We try to put it in words but our breath just makes a sigh.

Spinning thru the cosmos with unbelievable speed,
With everything we want but all we do is need,
Body plays the victim; spirit plays the healer,
Not quite sure which one’s the player and which one’s the dealer,
We can part the shallow waters but we drown in the deep,
We sow ourselves confusion and live on what we reap,
What is it that we look for; that we never find,
The brain tries to ponder the meaning of the mind.

Why do we live on expectations,
Why will we die for explanations.

Searching for a heaven to replace this broken Earth,
Trying to figure out the connection between death and birth,
Hidden in this nature are clues to the creation,
We find the simple answer to create more complication,
Thought is the mind’s anchor and atoms split the air,
Man accepts the challenge of the dark-matter dare,
The planets find their way without knowing where to go,
Man stumbles blindly inventing what to know.

We don’t have to be asleep to dream,
But we can’t make water out of steam.

(um ba aaaaa, um ba a)

And this dark tangle only spares the truth,
It destroys all speculation the way time destroys our youth.
